About the Artist
Margaret Brown was born in England where she took up her life enriching art passion. She achieved honours in the Academy of Fine Arts while still at school.
With children grown up, she completed a Craft and Design Diploma at Whitireia Polytechnic which encompassed painting, photography and a wide variety of crafts.
The ability to observe and express the unusual and interesting facets of life is typical of all of Margaret’s artistic works. She loves to celebrate life, nature, colour, and the marks people make on the world.
Margaret finds beauty in patterns of nature, humankind, the eccentric and the ordinary. She has fun using different mediums, such as water colour, acrylics, and her Japanese torn paper art.
She paints regularly with Mana Arts, Kapiti Arts and Wellington Watercolour and has successfully participated in exhibitions and competitions.
